Stratford-upon-Avon 2015

Posted: 6th January 2015

Form Four enjoyed an action–packed few days in Stratford-upon-Avon when they discovered more about William Shakespeare and how his family used to live.
After taking part in a Midsummer’s Night Dream Workshop they performed a version of the play using props and costume. They also learnt about wigs and make-up that might be used in stage productions.
After enjoying a boat trip along the River Avon, they created Elizabethan tiles and worked on pattern and symmetry.
At Mary Arden’s Farm all the girls dressed up as Tudor children and took part in activities such as lucetting (knitting) wall-hanging painting, bread- making and feeding lambs. They also watched a falconry display, played some Tudor Games, observed a Tudor family at lunch, saw how butter was made and took part in a Tudor Dance!!
