Two-Faced

Happy New Year to you all!

We began this week like Janus, the two-faced god after whom January is named. We have been looking back at what was achieved last term, and looking ahead to the new targets and challenges of the Spring Term and a new year. This morning in Good Work Assembly we celebrated Reception girls writing on the line, Form 1 girls working independently and with great focus on two and three digit numbers, and the helpfulness of Form 2. We also congratulated a gymnast, a skier and a public speaker, and read out postcards giving details of adventures in the mountains of Austria and swimming with dolphins in the Bahamas.

Mrs Timberlake, our new Chef Manager, and I will be asking the girls for their feedback on lunch at this term’s first School Council meeting (we are trying some new ideas this term), and any comments or suggestions you may have would also be gratefully received.

During the holidays we made some improvements at School that you may already have noticed, including the resurfacing of the path beside the Sports Hall and a new path at the rear of the Science Lab, to improve access and safety. We also had a number of jobs done to maintain the buildings, and in the next few weeks we are looking ahead to the summer to plan our next big development project.

I am very much looking forward to seeing, hearing and reading more about the girls’ achievements and adventures as we begin this new term. Onward and upward!

Mrs Martin
