Many visitors to Stormont comment on the very high standard of work on display throughout the school and this is testament not only to the teaching but also to the great enthusiasm shown by the girls for these subjects.

Art & Design is an area of the curriculum which is celebrated through extensive displays both within the classrooms and throughout the school.  The girls take pride in their work and are given the opportunity to experiment, develop and express ideas through a variety of media, which include drawing, painting, collage, pottery, 3D, printing, graphic design and ICT.

From Reception through to Form 6 the girls are taught by specialists in half class groups of twelve.

Cross-curricular links are important in the teaching of Art & Design along with the knowledge and understanding of the world’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. Trips to galleries and workshops are arranged each year, which help the girls to produce exciting and stimulating work.
