In each of these classes the form teacher is supported by a classroom assistant and the girls learn Music, Drama, Art, Pottery, Computing, Physical Education and French with specialist teachers. The programme followed builds on from the Early Years Foundation Stage in Reception and follows the broad lines of the National Curriculum in Forms 1 and 2.
All of the girls in Lower School enjoy the fantastic facilities of the Sports Hall, the Art and Pottery Rooms, the Studio for Music, the Hall for Drama, the French Room and the ICT Suite. All of the classrooms have computers and interactive whiteboards.
The girls have regular opportunities to mix with girls from other forms, during play and in planned activities. They are also encouraged to take good work to show to other members of staff in the Lower School, to continue the theme of celebration.
The girls go on trips to visit places of interest, for example Beckinscot Model Village and the Roald Dahl Museum, and they enjoy visitors coming in to school.
By the end of Form 2 the girls are preparing for their transition to Upper School, and a number of different activities are arranged to support them and their parents as they make this change.
