A double date for animal characters. Megan Rix, the children’s author, visited Stormont School for a day filled with reading and dressing up! This coincided with the opening of our newly refurbished Dyson Library in the main house.
The Dyson Library will be used as a study area and a relaxing reading space with an improved stock of books for all ages from Reception to Year 6. Many of the original features have been retained and it will be a great resource for the girls’ academic learning. The vaulted wooden ceiling lends itself to the room creating drama and interest. A big shout-out goes to the librarians at Queenswood School, Manor Lodge and Lochinver House for their help in planning and implementing the changes.
In the assembly to introduce Megan Rix, the video of MC Grammar was played and with the sound of his words it started the day of perfectly: reading can transport you, reading can make you feel free – reading is amazing!
