The girls spend four years at Stormont in the Upper School. Their learning, still based upon the National Curriculum, develops and extends the girls in preparation for their entry to a variety of schools in both the independent and maintained sectors. The girls are taught in small groups of half the class size for many lessons. For example, English, Maths, Science, French, Computing, Art, Pottery and Design Technology are usually taught in half class groups.
All of the Upper School girls enjoy the fantastic facilities of the Sports Hall, the Art, Pottery and Design Technology Rooms, the Science and French rooms, the Studio for Music and Drama and the ICT suite. All of the classrooms have computers and interactive whiteboards. Lessons are differentiated in order to ensure that all children can access the curriculum. Teachers use a wide range of teaching approaches and strategies.
