Beyond the Classroom: A Rich and Diverse Co-Curriculum

At Stormont, we believe that a truly well-rounded education extends far beyond the classroom. Our co-curricular programme is an integral part of school life, designed to enrich each girl’s experience, broaden her horizons, and help her discover new passions. Our diverse and ever-evolving selection of clubs are designed to inspire creativity, nurture resilience, and develop teamwork and leadership skills. The programme changes termly to keep things fresh and exciting, encouraging girls to step out of their comfort zones and try something new.

Some clubs are led by our own enthusiastic staff, while others are run by expert external professionals, ensuring high-quality, varied opportunities for a range of age groups. Please click each icon to find some of the clubs on offer.

In addition, our wraparound care runs until 6pm every day, giving families flexibility and peace of mind. For many girls, this extended day offers a valuable chance to continue learning, socialising or completing homework in a structured environment.

FAQ's

Are pupils required to take part in clubs and activities?

Girls are not required to participate in our clubs and activities, but it is something that we encourage them to. We have a wide range of clubs from which the girls can choose from. These can be in either sport, academic, cookery, arts, and music and drama clubs. Please click on the category boxes to read more and to see the clubs on offer. Joining a club allows the girls to try something new, to develop new skills, to refine already learnt skills and techniques, mix with girls across other year groups, or to just do something for fun!

Does every year get to participate in clubs?

Clubs are available for girls in Year 1 to Year 6.

How can I find the full list of clubs on offer?

Who leads the clubs?

We have a range of clubs run by external companies who visit the school to host their club. We also have a wide range of clubs run by the teachers.

How much are the clubs?

The price of the club varies on the activity. We have a wide range of free clubs which are run by the teachers. Our external clubs charge a small fee per lesson, details of which can be obtained from the school office.

What times do the clubs take place?

We offer clubs before the start of school, during lunchtime and after school. The clubs running after school can help parents with wrap-around care, alongside our extended care facility which runs until 6pm.

How do I sign up for clubs?

Parents sign up for clubs using the SOCs platform. This allows bookings to be made for clubs and payments to be taken where required. On joining Stormont you will have a SOCs account created for you.

How are the clubs structured alongside academic life?

Clubs are an important part of school life at Stormont and balance the academic side of school with areas for personal growth and enjoyment. Our range of clubs and activities offer a chance for the girls to switch off, connect with others and allow them to play an active role in the school community. Our co-curricular programme enriches our academic life, helping girls develop confidence, resilience, leadership and a broader range of interests.
