This afternoon our School Councillors and House Captains met with representatives from Smarty Schoolwear to share ideas and feedback about the Stormont uniform.

The meeting was initiated by the School Council, who had gathered a number of practical suggestions to enhance pupils’ everyday experience. Their proposals included waterproof gloves for wet weather play, dry robes for winter fixtures, waterproof trousers for Foundation Class pupils to support their new Outdoor Adventure Education curriculum, and a simple strap for school bags to help prevent water bottles from falling out of side pockets.

Smarty Schoolwear were impressed by the thoughtful and well-considered suggestions. They have taken the ideas back to their Head Office for further consideration and development and we look forward to reviewing some samples!

At Stormont, pupil voice is highly valued and opportunities such as this allow girls to play an active role in shaping school life. We are proud of the confidence, leadership and initiative shown by our School Councillors and House Captains, who represented their peers so effectively.
