Stormont Parents’ Association (SPA)

We are very fortunate to have a very dedicated parents’ association made up of parents across all years. This year we have had the benefit of joint Chairs of the Association who have both done fantastic work for the school in terms of their commitment and organisation leading a large group of willing parents. They took over in September 2019 from the outgoing successful Chair and were part of the School Ball Committee which was put together to celebrate our 75th anniversary in 2019 at Stormont School in October. The Ball was an amazing success, a wonderful evening of entertainment and fundraising.

Their hard work this year so far has raised an impressive amount of funds which will all go back into the school for the benefit of all the girls and staff. Projects are being discussed and developed for 2020/21 and we look forward to seeing the fruits of their labour.

Not only do the SPA raise money for the school they also raise money throughout the year for our charities which are chosen by the House Captains at the beginning of the academic year.

At Christmas, SPA organised a food bank collection which was delivered to the Food Bank in Potters Bar via The Hart and Parker Trust. As part of Book Week our families donated books in good condition for children of all ages to a school in Enfield to host their own book fair. This is just an example of the work our SPA do for charity.

Discos, Yuletide, Macmillan Coffee Mornings and the Harvest Festival are just a few of the activities for families to come together at Stormont School.

Without the support of our hard working SPA members we wouldn't be in a position to make so many improvements to the School and so my gratitude and that of my team is heartfelt.

Live Lessons at Stormont School

All lessons at Stormont School are live!  From the start of this second lock down the Senior Leadership Team and the teaching staff knew that the best way to keep the curriculum on track was to have staff work from home teaching live.    We do have key worker children in school to support those who need our help with supervision but they all follow the same curriculum online.

We have listened to parents, adapted where needed and listened to the girls because their welfare and their continuing education is key.  Of course, we would love to be in school together and we look forward to that day but in the meantime, it is business as usual just in a different location.

If you are interested in Stormont School for your daughter, do contact us, we are here to listen.
