Residential Trips

School visits are an important part of life at Stormont and the girls will have many opportunities to take part during their time with us. Local visits, to bring different aspects of the curriculum to life, take part regularly for girls of all ages. There is also a programme of residential trips from Year 4 upwards.  We are continuously collating information about trips during COVID-19 and will endeavour to book these trips when we are confident that they can take place.

All settings are fully vetted by our staff and activities are carefully planned out to suit the age group.  The girls are encouraged to attend but is not compulsory, however it does help to give them confidence to be away from home and we work with parents from the beginning of year in encouraging your child to attend.

Year 4 will have a one night stay in a residential setting.  They will travel by coach usually mid-morning on the first day and return at the end of the second day.  It is an exciting time and is aimed at getting them ready for the longer stays in the upper years.

Year 5 usually attend a three night stay in North Yorkshire which is a combined Science and Geography trip exploring the local area and further afield.  It is a popular trip and one that the girls always refer to as being their best yet.

In the girls’ final year, a four-night trip to France is organised where they get to put their French language to good use, explore their surroundings at a typical French market and visit the coast.   They try out the French cuisine and frogs’ legs is one that they either love them or hate!
